Niax™ catalyst C-5

Niax™ catalyst C-5 by Momentive is a tertiary amine. It is characterized as a strong blowing catalyst while maintaining a good gel profile. Provides balanced catalysis of the water/ isocyanate (blowing) and the polyol/isocyanate (gelling) reactions. It exhibits good flow properties while maintaining a reasonable cure rate. Can be used in combination with other amine catalysts such as Niax catalyst C-8 to optimize flowability and cure profile. Niax™ catalyst C-5 is employed in the catalysis of rigid polyurethane foams for both molded and pour-in-place applications. It is also used in various applications like refrigerators, discontinuous panels, water heaters, continuous lamination, and spray form. It can be utilized as a reactivity profile modifier for the processing of polyisocyanurate foams.
