Bright 200 (OB-1) by MPI Chemie is an effective fluorescent whitening agent and brightener. It offers good thermal stability and imparts a pleasing whiter than white appearance. This additive shows compatibility with many polymers. It is designed to brighten colors or mask yellowing in plastics and fibers. It absorbs invisible ultraviolet radiation and re-emits it as visible light in the blue range of the spectrum. Bright 200 (OB-1) gives more intensity to some colors as well in polyester, nylon fibers and nonwovens. Recommended for packaging applications such as PET bottles.
