GLIDOX™ 500

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Renessenz
2,6,6-trimethylbicyclo[3.1.1]heptylhydroperoxide. Acts as a polymerization initiator. Contains 50-55% active substance. It is produced from the naturally occurring turpentine of pine trees. It has an extended half-life at 130°C and also has an extra margin of safety to resist the effect of short term exposure to temperatures above ambient in comparison to 55% PMHP. It is cost-effective due to lower dosage levels as compared to other initiators. Dosage level is within 5% of the 55% PMHP usage on a mass basis. The odor intensity of products produced with PHP is much less and hence conforms to environmental VOC requirements. It can be used in the manufacture of various polymers such as vinyl, nitrile, styrene-butadiene, and polyester resins. The initiator addition rate for Glidox® ranges between 95% and 105% of the mass rate required for 55% PMHP for most emulsion polymerization systems.
