Crystal-clear 75% solution of methyltributylammonium chloride in water. Acts as a catalyst. It enhances reaction rates and yields, and also saves production and waste costs. It reduces energy consumption because process can be operated under milder conditions. It enables the use of inexpensive inorganic bases (like NaOH) and other reagents. It also enhances environmental friendliness as the use of solvents is reduced or even eliminated. It provides ability to use simpler process equipment and easy scale-up from lab process. It can be used as phase transfer catalyst in many biphasic organic transitions used in the polymers industry.
