Molecular weight adjuster. Is a transparent,pale yellow viscous liquid, non-toxic and odorless. Can become the molecular weight adjuster in polymerization because the chief components are 2,4-2 phenyl,4-methyl, pentene-1 and pentene-2,in which pentene 1 is the main one in its structure. Mostly used as chain transfer agent in polymerization of a-olefins such as acrylic acid,styrene,ABS, etc. Has similar action to that of ndodecanethiol. Can effectively control the specific viscosity of the polymers to make the polymerization of MMA according to the technology requirements on addition.
