ST-CE37B by Starbetter Chemical Materials acts as a chain extender for plastic resin. It is a polymeric epoxy functional styrene (ST), methyl methacrylate (MMA) and methyl methacrylate (GMA) terpolymer. The epoxy functional group reacts with the terminal hydroxyl groups, terminal carboxyl groups and terminal amino groups of polycondensation resin. This improves polycondensation resin viscosity characteristics, mechanical properties and inhibits the hydrolysis of polymers. It can be blended with modified resins by twin screw and single screw extruder. ST-CE37B is recommended at a dosage of 0.2-1.5% for bio-based and biodegradable plastics including PLA, PPC, PBS, PHA and 0.2-2.0% for the condensation recycled plastics such as PET, PBT, PC and PA.
