STRUKTOL® TR 131

STRUKTOL® TR 131 by Struktol is a lubricant, dispersant, slip and mold release agent. It is an unsaturated primary amide derived from erucic acid. It is used in polyolefin films, reducing the coefficient of friction. It is suitable at higher extrusion temperatures because of its high heat stability and slower rate of migration to the surface compared with oleamides. Its low odor makes it extremely suitable for food contact applications. In PVC plastisols for screw closures, it reduces the torque and facilitates release. It is used in thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), thermoplastic resins and thermoset rubber systems. The recommended dosage level for plastics is 0.05-0.5%, PVC is 0.3-0.5 % and elastomers is 1-3 phr. The shelf life of STRUKTOL® TR 131 is 2 years.
