PowerNox™ 1520 by TinToll (PCC Group) is a multi-functional antioxidant based on hindered phenol and thioether chemistry. It is a 4,6-bis (octylthiomethyl)-o-cresol. It offers protection to elastomers against thermal degradation. It is non-discoloring, non-staining, low in volatility, and stable to light and heat. It provides both processing and long-term heat aging stability. It is soluble in n-hexane and dichloromethane. PowerNox™ 1520 is suitable for use in emulsion and solution polymerized elastomers such as BR, SBR, NBR and SBS.
