CAS-20® 4 Calcium Sulfate Filler

CAS-20® 4 Calcium Sulfate Filler by U.S. Gypsum is anhydrous calcium sulfate, extremely white, finely divided particulate filler with high purity. It is manufactured from high-purity gypsum rock using controlled calcination and fine grinding. The calcination process greatly reduces its moisture affinity. The narrow particle size distribution contributes to optimum impact properties in thermoplastics. CAS-20® 4 Calcium Sulfate Filler displays whiteness, soft & low abrasion, resistance to weak acids, excellent impact properties and good processability. It shows lower specific gravity than barium sulfate and improved UV resistance. The low Mohs hardness minimizes abrasion to processing equipment. It is used in a variety of thermoplastic, thermoset and plastisol systems. Also, used at high loadings and consistently provides an excellent balance of properties and good surface appearance. This product is ideal for food packaging applications requiring filler with high purity and food acid resistance. Also, used as a partial replacement for titanium dioxide because of its high brightness. It is listed in FDA title 21, volume 3, part 184.
