Tribromoneopentyl alcohol. It acts as a reactive brominated flame retardant for polyurethanes where its high solubility in the system makes it especially useful. It also acts as a reactive intermediate for high molecular weight flame retardant, particularly in combination with phosphorus. It offers exceptional stability and along with that it’s high bromine content as well as good compatibility in CFC-free PU systems enables high standards of fire retardancy to be reached together with good foam properties in both rigid & flexible PU. It is particularly suitable where thermal, hydrolytic and light stability is required.
