DTAP

DTAP by United Initiators is cumyl peroxide. It acts as an initiator (radical source) in the polymerization of monomers, like e.g. ethylene, styrene, and especially acrylates in bulk or in suspension. It appears as a colorless, slightly yellowish, mobile liquid, with molar mass of 174.2 g/mol. In case of acrylates it is in suspension especially for the production of high-solid vanishes. More selective radical formation, led to narrower MW-distribution, lower viscosity and higher solid contents that can be achieved compared to (DTBP). High-pressure polymerization processes are combined with thermally active peroxides leading to the reduction of residual monomer content in the polymer.
