KPS (PPS)

Potassium per-sulfate. It acts as an initiator for the polymerization of monomers of acrylic, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride etc. and for the emulsion co-polymerization of styrene, acrylonitrile, butadiene etc. in combination with the redox systems and as a strong oxidizing agent in many applications. It appears as a white, fine crystalline, odorless salt with 270.33 g/mol of molar mass. It enhances the free flowing properties and tends to lumping. It has the particular advantage of being only slightly hygroscopic and easy and safe to handle. As a result of the process used for its production it is free from contamination by ammonium ions. Due to its extremely high purity it has a good storage stability.
