Tert.butylperoxy-2-ethyl hexanoate. It acts as an initiator (radical source) for the high pressure polymerization of monomers (ethylene, methacrylates and allyl monomers) in combination with thermally more stable peroxides or with more stable peresters (tert.butylperoxy benzoate or tert.butylperoxy-3,5,5-trimethyl hexanoate). It appears as a colorless, mobile liquid, which is desensitized with aliphatic hydrocarbons. It is highly efficient and is readily miscible with high boiling aliphatics. It is approved to be transported in temerature controlled bulk containers.
