Methyl 12-hydroxystearate. Acts as a plasticizer, processing aid and release agent. Exhibits oil, water and oxidation resistance. Provides excellent pigment wetting, lubrication and is compatible with most natural waxes. It reduces hysteresis and scorch tendency during rubber compound processing. Also reduces surface tack in butyl rubber and improves gloss in EPDM rubber based extrusion products. Used in butyl and EPDM rubber.
