iso-Decyl Methacrylate (IDMA)

iso-Decyl Methacrylate (IDMA) by BASF is a multifunctional acrylate monomer. It exhibits hydrophobicity, low viscosity and good flexibility. It forms homopolymers and copolymers which can be prepared with acrylic acid and its salts, amides, esters, methacrylates, acrylonitrile, maleic acid esters, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene, unsaturated polyesters and drying oils. It imparts low glass transition temperature, low shrinkage, good chemical- & water resistance, weatherability and impact strength to polymers. It is used in and plasticizing. iso-Decyl Methacrylate (IDMA) readily undergoes addition reactions with a wide variety of organic and inorganic compounds. iso-Decyl Methacrylate (IDMA) is also a very useful feedstock for chemical synthesis.
