Capa® Monomer

Capa® Monomer is a low viscosity caprolactone monomer. It has a lactone ring that is relatively easily opened by compounds containing active hydrogen atoms such as alcohols. Each ring opening step forms a terminal, primary hydroxyl group. Exhibits outstanding flexibility even at low temperatures, low viscosity, gloss, hydrolytic stability, excellent strength, UV resistance and abrasion resistance. It shows consistent and adjustable reactivity and a lasting outdoor performance for polyurethane materials. Provides strong adhesion on difficult and sensitive substrates and shows consistent crystallization. It has low impurities, is not self-igniting and is non-toxic, readily biodegradable, easy to process with short cycle times, shape and apply. Capa® Monomer is suitable for thermosetting acrylic resins and can be used as a reactive diluent in epoxy resins.
