POLYBATCH® PF 97 TS

POLYBATCH® PF 97 TS by LyondellBasell is a masterbatch containing 70% of a mineral filler and white pearlescent pigment. It has low density and provides improved dead fold properties. It is very hygroscopic and offers minimum adhesion with the PP. It generates almost no shiny spots defects on high output machine equipped with cascade extruders as main extrusion system and is suitable for metallisable films. The white opaque film can be made as plain or as coextruded film. The skin layers can be homopolymer for enhancing gloss or copolymer as seal layer. It has better heat transfer due to the presence of mineral, all extrusion temperatures should be lowered by 10 to 15 degrees. During the bi-orientation process, vacuoles are formed in the film, reducing its density from 0.906 to 0.650. POLYBATCH® PF 97 TS is compatible with PP homopolymer. It is used for the production of very heavy gauge film having improved gas barrier properties, oriented flat film and pearlized BOPP films on stenter lines. Its recommended dosage rate is to be used at a let down ratio of 1:7 (12%) for homopolymer PP. It is FDA recognized.
