Colortherm® Yellow 20

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Lanxess
Sythetic iron oxide alpha FeOOH modified with Al-compounds. It is an iron oxide yellow pigment with improved heat stability. It achieves its high heat stability through an additional inorganic surface treatment. In this way, the normally limited heat stability of iron oxide yellows is increased. Maximum temperature stability can vary depending on the system into which the pigment is incorporated. In addition, it is coated with a hydrophobic silicone compound to improve the dispersibility in plastics. The product is ideally suited to the coloring of plastics and masterbatches. In addition, it can also be applied in the field of wood plastic composites. In combination with an organic blue pigment it is widely used for the coloration and UV protection of fibers used in the manufacture of artificial turf. The product exhibits good dispersibility, even in processes which have short dwell times and relatively low shear forces. It is easy to break down and distribute to reach its final tinting strength quickly. It does not migrate and is very lightfast and weather stable. The pigment belongs to the product range that has been developed particularly for applications where high heat stability is required.
