CLOISITE® additives are clay-based (phyllosilicate) materials used as flame retardant synergists in halogen-free flame retardant thermoplastics. They improve the physical and barrier properties of thermoplastic compounds. Typical applications for CLOISITE® include halogen-free cable formulations, where not only good flame retardant properties are required, but also and especially mechanical properties such as high strength and elongation at break, or where good electrical properties, such as high specific volume resistivity before and after immersion in water are highly important.
