Perkalite®

Polymers additives supplied by Nouryon

Perkalite® from Nouryon is a series of organically modified synthetic clay products based on magnesium-aluminum layered double hydroxides (LDH). Upon compounding in polymers, Perkalite® can be delaminated to nanoscale level, resulting in improved polymer properties such as thermo-mechanical, flame retardant, barrier, and rheological properties.

When used as flame retardant synergists, Perkalite® grades enable the reduction of ATH or MDH in a compound or achieving better flame retardant ratings. These grades use fatty-acid modifiers that do not create undesirable color, have higher temperature stability, and are more compatible with polymers than the cationic quaternaries typically used to modify other nanoclays.
