Retrofitting pelletizing lines for economic advantage

SpecialChem / Jul 7, 2003

With resins going through major product enhancements over the past few years, demands on machinery manufacturers have increased. Manufacturing facilities want new technology in reliable pelletizing equipment to save energy costs along with greater processing capabilities. This equipment must be proficient at handling shear and temperature sensitive products at larger capacities, even if it means running processing equipment at the maximum limits. Gear pumps for pelletizing operations have experienced the same equipment demands and therefore the process capabilities are enhanced through specific metallurgical engineering and technical advancements. These advances have resulted from direct operating experience from thousands of gear pump installations worldwide over the past thirty years. Pressure building still remains the key function of the gear pump in the pelletizing system, offering reliability and production process advantages such as: * Increased production rates * Minimum energy consumption (lower specific energy)
