Crystex™ OT 33 AS

Crystex™ OT 33 AS by Eastman is a non-blooming vulcanizing agent for unsaturated elastomers. It retards bin scorch, prevents migration of sulfur and preserves surface tack. It offers high thermal stability and dispersibility due to the presence of silica. It is a non-staining and non-discoloring. At vulcanization temperatures, it will de-polymerize to soluble sulfur and behaves similarly to "Rubber Maker's" sulfur. It is a metastable product that can revert to soluble sulfur if not stored under proper conditions. It is used in compounds containing a relatively large sulfur loading above the solubility of sulfur in the elastomer. Reversion of this grade to soluble sulfur is also catalyzed by alkaline products. Crystex™ OT 33 AS is designed for tires and other plied-up rubber goods.
