Niax™ catalyst EF-708

Niax™ EF-708 by Momentive is a liquid, low odor, tertiary blow amine. The non-volatility of this amine catalyst is the result of molecular design and high molecular weight. This gives affinity towards the chemical structure of the final urethane polymer. This new catalyst family consists of amines formulated into a range of delayed catalysts to provide the best available tools for successful production. Niax catalyst ™EF-708, the main product, is used preferably in combination with a gel catalyst such as Niax catalyst EF-602. The combination has the dual benefit of high rising foam stability and resultant open-cell foam. The remaining two catalysts in this blow family, Niax catalyst EF-705 and Niax catalyst EF-700, are based on the same tertiary amine. Niax catalyst EF-705 is strongly delayed and is the best choice when long cream times and highly open foams are desirable. Alternatively, Niax catalyst EF-700 is an efficient blow catalyst and is recommended for pour-in place applications where shorter cream time is required. It is designed to minimize or eliminate amine emissions in automotive interiors.
