Niax™ Silicone L-650

Niax™ silicone L-650 by momentive is a medium potency, alkyl-pendant, organosilicone surfactant for use in flexible slabstock foam applications that require the use of flame retardants. Use of this surfactant may minimize the amount of flame retardant required to pass combustibility tests. The potential for great FR savings exists when using Niax silicone L-650. This new product can be used in conventional foam manufacturing processes as well as in those that use CO2 as auxiliary blowing agent. Niax™ silicone L-650 provides for excellent froth formation and stability (as required for “CO2 processes”) to make soft and low density foam grades.
