HXA UV-944

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by The Hanson Group
N,N'-bis(2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl)-1,6-hexanediamine, polymer with 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine and 2,4,4- trimethyl-1,2-pentanamine. Acts as a low-dust, polymeric hindered amine light stabilizer. It provides outstanding light stability to many polymers and, in addition, gives long-term heat stability to polymers by radical trapping mechanism similar to that of hinder phenol. Possesses low volatility as well as low extractability. HXA UV-944 effectiveness is independent of the polymer’s thickness, in contrast to UV absorbers. It can be incorporated in monomer before polymerization, often with improvement of resin quality. The light stability of polymer can be further enhanced by use of UV absorbers or certain antioxidants. Used for those applications which demand particularly high stability for such polymers as PP, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, ABS and PVC. It is also effective in articles with high pecific surface such as fiber, films and tapes. Can also be used in food packaging applications including PP and PE with maximum concentration of 0.3%. It is recommended for the purpose of light protection at percentage of 0.2% - 0.5%.
