Elkem Silicones Phoenix Project Completion Silicon Monomer Elkem Silicones Xinghuo achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of the test production phase for the Phoenix project.

This project involves the construction of a new 200,000-ton silicon monomer production plant and related equipment.

Aiming to Enhance Downstream Product Manufacturing

The rigorous testing phase culminated in flawless performance by the monomer synthesis plant, meeting all design specifications. The plant produced high-quality products that exceeded industry standards, marking a remarkable and unique start-up success. Elkem now solidifies its position as the world’s premier supplier of integrated silicone products.

The Phoenix project, which broke ground on April 28th, 2021, reached completion on January 18th, 2024. Once fully operational, the Xinghuo plant will boast a total silicone monomer production capacity of 700,000 tons per year. Additionally, downstream processes and specialty product production capacity will reach 300,000 tons annually.

Elkem’s innovative technology ensures low energy consumption, high purity, efficient conversion rates, and minimal emissions. The project adheres to EHS standards, while product quality remains unparalleled. These high-quality raw materials will enhance downstream product manufacturing, reinforcing Elkem’s innovation-driven specialization strategy.

Elkem remains committed to fostering innovation, explore further expansions and specialized developments within the silicone product chain, driving growth in both upstream and downstream silicone industries. Ultimately, Elkem aims to deliver superior products and services to the market.
