CAI Performance Additives launches their latest product, ST-4210™, a highly functionalized Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) that is used to improve the compatibility and mechanical properties of ABS/GF reinforced materials, as well as PC/ABS alloys compatibility.
ST-4210™ is very highly grafted with maleic anhydride functionalized yet has low residue and low odor.
Interface Compatibilizer for Reinforced ABS
It can be used as an interface compatibilizer for glass fiber reinforced ABS, and other filled ABS, improving the compatibility of the system and enhancing the mechanical properties of the mixed system.
For example, on comparison of ABS + 20% GF + 5% MAH Grafted ABS ST-4210™ in terms of tensile strength and notched impact strength- ST-4210™ has a significantly higher tensile strength than a competing additive. This means that ST-4210™ can make ABS/GF products stronger and more durable. Further, this can be achieved without unwanted VOC or other emissions due to residual MAH.
ST-4210™ also has a significantly higher notched impact strength than ABS/GF made with a competing approach. This means that ST-4210™ can make ABS products that are more resistant to impact damage. In addition, ST-4210™ can do a similar job for PC/ABS copolymers requiring outstanding mechanical performance, better processing, without unwanted emissions from the MAH.
Our commitment to providing innovative solutions for the plastics industry, and the introduction of ST-4210™ is just one example of our dedication to delivering superior products that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
