Riverdale Global launches +Zero processing aid agents to prevent the buildup of static electric charges that occur on the surface of plastic parts while processing, and also functions as an excellent mold release agent so that by reducing surface tension on the parts, cycle times can be reduced – by up to 25%.
At Riverdalethe approach has been to create carrier systems that add value to the process as well as carrying the pigment to it. Innovative carrier technology has made possible higher pigment loadings, more compatibility with engineering resins, and longer stability, especially with pearls and metallic.
Allows Easy Flow of Polymer
New carrier systems also allow the polymer to flow more easily with less heat, which in turn reduces injection time and cooling time. It also offers the ability to use 100% regrind material so that processors will see excellent mold release of parts when using either virgin or recycled material.
The New and improved + Zero formula offers higher loading results in lower usage rates for significant cost savings. This new processing aid also provides improved processing of recycled material as the new formulated additive allows for the use of higher percentage recycled material as well as the use of lower grade recycled material. Flow and dispersion rates are improved along with the reduced cycle time.
“
The new price point for this additive ensures processors will see significant savings while using a higher percent and/or a lower grade of recycled material,” said Jared Arbeter, director of sales. “
The new +Zero additive is another step in our customers journey for increased sustainability – by effectively using recycled resins in their processing.”
Arbeter further added, “
Our liquid colors and additives also have lower inventory requirements, since they take up only about one-fourth of the space needed for an equivalent amount of concentrates. In addition, they are not subject to the minimum-order requirements posed by many concentrate suppliers.”
