Shepherd Color Unveils Bismuth Vanadate Yellow Pigment

Published on 2021-04-20. Edited By : SpecialChem

Can-Shepherd-yellow Shepherd Color has launched Bismuth Vanadate (BV) Yellow. This addition to their ultra-high performance yellow and orange lines, adds yet another pigment to their already long list of color options.

Pigment with Wide Regulatory Approvals

Bismuth Vanadate, also known as C.I. Pigment Yellow 184, is widely used in high-performance yellow color matches and has wide regulatory approvals and inclusion in chemical registries around the world.

Shepherd Color’s Yellow 30C133 is only available in their Dynamix® brand, which removes the time consuming, energy-intensive and variable pigment grinding step in laboratory development, scale-up, and full production.

Yellow 30C133 is all inorganic and doesn’t have any organic dispersion aids or resins included that might compromise the performance of systems incorporating Yellow 30C133.

Common uses for Yellow 30C133 are high-performance coatings such as coil & extrusion spray, automotive, industrial, architectural, powder and other coatings. It can also be used in plastics and engineering polymers, especially in thin films and fibers.

The pigment is optimized for easy dispersion and has the following characteristics:

  • Bright, green-shade yellow
  • High opacity and heat stability
  • Compatible with wide range of water and solvent systems and plastics
  • High tint strength

Yellow 30C133 is a great partner to Shepherd Color’s innovative NTP yellows helping customers to expand their inorganic durable and weatherable color space options. This new pigment is an example of Shepherd Color’s R&D expertise in developing products that provide unique tools to solve the challenges of customers in the coatings and engineering plastics industries.
