Dibutyl sebacate (DBS) by Biolar is a plasticizer for PVC, polyvinyl butyral, cellulose acetate, rubber. It is suitable for vinyl chloride copolymers as well as for cellulose nitrate, ethyl- and benzyl-cellulose applications. It provides high cold resistance at low temperature, light and water resistance. It is recommended for the production of cable plasticates, artificial leather, industrial rubber products, polymeric building materials, linoleums, films, sheet materials, and packaging films. It is insoluble in water, polypropylene glycol, glycerine soluble in organic solvents such as toluene, acetone, hexane, ethanol and hydrocarbons. It is non-toxic and can be used in products contacting foodstuffs.
