Bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate by BOC Sciences acts as a plasticizer in processing polyvinyl and other polymers. It is a clear liquid with slight aromatic odor. It is suitable for flexible vinyl food wraps.

It is stable and incompatible with oxidizing agents, water & nitrates.
It emits acrid smoke and irritating fumes when heated to decomposition.
Bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate is also used as a solvent for aircraft lubricants and hydraulic fluids.
