BYK-MAX CT 4275 by BYK is a reinforcing additive based on organophilic phyllosilicate. It is a specially designed mixed-morphology clay for use in polyamides (PA) and other medium-high polar engineering thermoplastics.
  • It provides improved dispersion and mixing capability in the thermoplastic matrix.
  • At the same time, the special surface treatment ensures an almost perfect exfoliation in polar resins such as polyamide 6 (PA 6) and polyurethane (PU).
  • The highly reinforcing mechanism of this additive offers various physical properties such as improved flexural modulus, yield strength, tensile strength, and heat deflection temperature while simultaneously ensuring excellent flow behavior of the composite.
  • It provides weight reduction, viscosity modification and is also used as a flame retardant synergist.
  • It allows a lower total mineral/glass fiber content in mineral- & glass-filled thermoplastic composites, resulting in a lower final density of the part without compromising any mechanical properties.
  • BYK-MAX CT 4275 is suitable for light-weight applications in transportation markets.
  • It has a positive impact on the surface appearance, scratch resistance, and mold flow in such material systems.
  • The recommended dosage level is 3-7% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation.
  • It has a shelf life of 60 months.
