Hostanox® OSP 1

Hostanox® OSP 1 by Clariant is a high efficient antioxidant and metal deactivator which prevents the auto-catalytic decomposition of polyolefins. It offers excellent thermal stability, good extraction- & migration resistance in applications with contact to liquid media, high contribution to OIT. It exhibits low volatility and has less impact on the color of the resin compared to other metal deactivators. Metal deactivators are used if the polyolefin based finished article comes into contact with transition metals, such as Cu, Fe, Ni, Ti, etc. It is very suitable for plastics in particular for polyolefins used in cable filler black carbon and fittings. Furthermore, Hostanox® OSP 1 leads to a remarkable improvement of the OIT value being required in polyethylene pipe applications. It is also compatible with cross-linked polyethylene. Minimum shelf life of the product is 3 years.
