SMA® 3000 by Cray Valley (TotalEnergies) acts as a viscosity and gloss modifier. It is a low molecular weight styrene maleic anhydride copolymer with ca. 3:1 mole ratio. Exhibits water resistance and adhesion properties. It is utilized to modify melt flow, improve coupling and to better disperse fillers and pigments in thermoplastics. It offers improved impact and heat distortion temperature properties in thermoplastic materials. Recommended applications of SMA® 3000 include epoxy formulations, polymer composites and polymer modification.
