Triacetin (Lanxess)

Triacetin is glycerintriacetate. Acts as a plasticizer. It exhibits good dissolving power for a number of organic substances, good plasticizing effect for various plastics such as cellulose acetates or cellulose acetate butyrates and propionates, good compatibility with natural and synthetic rubber, good gelling capacity with PVC when used as additive. Compatible with synthetic rubber and cellulose derivatives. It has a shelf life of 12 months.
