Ethanediol. It is a polyester polyol and a diol. It is an odorless, syrupy liquid with a sweet taste. It augments the capabilities to include applications that require chemical intermediates for resins, solvent couplers, freezing point depression solvents, humectants and chemical intermediates. It is used in manufacture of a wide range of products, including resins, deicing fluids, heat transfer fluids, automotive antifreeze, coolants, electrolytic capacitors, textile fibers, paper, leather and synthetic rubbers.
