Stannous carboxylate. Acts as a tin based catalyst. It is stable, anti-corrosive and possesses incompatibility with oxidizers. Can be utilized neat or as a mixture in alcohols. It is removed from esters via chemical methods or by adsorption. Used for oleochemical esterifications, curing of silicone resins and silanes as well as catalysis of lactone polymerization to form biodegradable polymers. It is also used to obtain light and clear products. Recommended to be used at concentrations ranging from 0.01-0.20 wt% at 80-240 °C.
