Two forms of PE, LLDPE and LDPE, are largely used for film applications in food packaging due to their relatively low cost, lightweight nature, and recyclability. To allow efficient use of thin plastic films in food packaging lines, anti-blocking aids are added to reduce sticking during rolling and wrapping.
