Available solutions to replace PFAS for plastics applications: Meet the impact of potential new restrictions in the EU

SpecialChem
This is a Past Webinar

A turning point in the field of fluoro-based chemicals and materials is on its way! Since March, the EU has been reviewing the largest restriction proposal submitted under the REACH* – aiming to ban all per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

Despite their widely varying performances and practical applications, thousands of substances are likely to be prohibited from manufacturing, sale and use in the EU, impacting huge amount of application areas and having very little possibilities for exemptions. The ban may possibly become effective as soon as 2026-2027. Given the immensity of the task and the timing, finding PFAS substitutes appears an extremely challenging venture.

SpecialChem joins forces with specialty material suppliers to support the industries currently relying on PFAS compounds navigate through the uncertainty of the future and identify alternative solutions.

Throughout this webinar we will hear contributions from specialty materials companies who will present their readily available additives and polymers offering to meet the challenges of replacing PFAS in plastics applications.
