Ian Query Technical Specialist, Recycling, Specialty Additives - Baerlocher USA

Ian Query Ian Query is a technical specialist for the Specialty Additives division of Baerlocher USA. Since 2018, Ian has been responsible for supporting downstream recycling and wood-plastic composite customers, assisting them as they develop applications and processes for post-consumer and post-industrial resins.

Prior to joining Baerlocher, Query was a researcher for Nike’s Material Science Innovation team, focusing on material process innovation for footwear and apparel. He also has experience in PVC processing, serving on Emerald Kalama Chemical’s applications team, researching PVC plasticizers.

Ian has a Bachelors degree in chemistry from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, and a Masters degree in polymer chemistry from the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. In addition, Ian is an active member of several plastics industry associations like the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), and also serves on the Olefins committee for the Association for Plastics Recyclers (APR).
