During the 2014 SPE International Polyolefin Conference, in Houston (USA), Daikin has presented its broad range portfolio of Polymers Processing Aids (PPA) used as additives to increase productivity and quality of plastics. This presentation shows all parameters influencing PPA efficiency in terms of coating speed and die build up.
In reply to the most Frequently Asked Questions, Daikin confirms that their Polymer Processing Aids do not contain substances classified as “mutagenic”, “carcinogenic” or “toxic to reproduction”. Daikin PPA are FDA approved for food contact use for polyolefins and are also in compliance with the European requirements for safety of toys.
To improve interactions between Polymer Processing Aids and anti-blocks (talc) in a PE or masterbatch formulation, Daikin has studied PPA behavior when extruded and has defined better mixing methods to decrease similar issues.
