Polymers that have to meet high technical requirements require the support of specialty polymer additives.

Via its BRUGGOLEN® product lines, Bruggemann offers high performance additives for engineering thermoplastics with a focus on polyamides (PA6, PA 6.6, PA 12 and Co-polyamide), polyesters (PET, PBT), polypropylene (PP) as well as in the recycling of high-grade polymers.

Covering a range of applications from compounds for injection molding and extrusion, packaging film, and fibers, the BRUGGOLEN® polymer additives enable efficient production processes, lead to extended operating life, quality and economic efficiency.

These additives are available individually or as "One-Packs".
"One-Packs" , from polyamide-specialist Bruggemann, are mixtures of two or more additives and present solutions for specific applications in customized product forms such as powder, pellet or masterbatch. These mixtures help achieve up to 50% raw material savings.

Processing auxiliaries and aids such as nucleating agents, lubricating and release agents with a strong focus on polyamides, polyesters and glass reinforced polypropylene.

Additives for PA and PET Recycling

Additives for the recycling of engineering thermoplastics Mixture of functional additives for recycling PA, PET and other engineering thermoplastic waste.


Besides being environment friendly and reducing CO2 emissions, PA, PET and other ETP recycling can be an important factor of increased profitability for compounders and processors. This should be an enticer further to world Directives such as the Waste Framework Directive objective of achieving 50% recycling by 2020 in the E.U.
However, regranulation alone is not sufficient to meet high value requirements mainly due to:

  • Degradation and unsuitable molecular weight
  • Discoloration (Thermo-oxidative damage)
  • Unsuitable processing behavior
  • Inability to match mechanical properties
  • Missing performance additives
  • Various incompatibilities


Therefore, specialty additives - such as Processing Auxiliaries, Heat and Light Stabilizers, Antioxidants, Modifiers - are required to modify the recyclate properties specifically to meet the requested properties of virgin resins.
This is particularly important as recycling can greatly increase profitability of PA and PET compounders and processors as is shown in this graph:
